CT (Computed Tomography)
CT uses X-rays to create cross-sectional images of the body. Some examinations use contrast.
Preparation
Preparation depends on the area scanned and whether contrast is used. Tell staff about possible pregnancy, implants, allergies and kidney problems. MRI requires metal and implant safety screening.
After your visit
Many diagnostic scans allow a return to usual activities, but contrast or sedation may require additional instructions. Ask how and when you will receive results.
